03A Finger Drumming and Clip Launching

Using pads (Ableton Push or Novation Launchpad) or your computer keyboard, you can create and play with musical ideas. This video shows how to first record and overdub clips in Note Mode and then how to play and combine them in Session Mode.

In this Ableton Live tutorial, Berklee Online course author Erin Barra demonstrates clip launching in session view using global quantization. This tool allows your clips to consistently launch on the next downbeat, making it useful for live performances. Erin is using Ableton’s Push 2 controller in this tutorial.

This is a comprehensive tutorial by LNA where she will explain what Session View is what it is used for.
